The Influence of the Numbered Head Together Learning Model on Improving Students' Mathematical Concept Understanding Ability

Abstract


Model pembelajaran Numbered Heads Together (NHT) dirancang untuk memberikan kesempatan kepada siswa untuk bekerja sama dan mendukung interaksi interpersonal antar siswa. Aspek yang sangat penting dalam pembelajaran matematika adalah pemahaman konsep. Pemahaman konsep matematika adalah memahami konsep matematika dengan benar, yaitu siswa dapat menerjemahkan, mengartikan, dan menyimpulkan suatu konsep matematika berdasarkan pembentukan pengetahuannya sendiri, bukan hanya sekedar menghafal. Pemahaman konsep, siswa dalam proses pembelajaran dapat mengembangkan kemampuannya, masalah sederhana hingga kompleks dapat dipecahkan oleh siswa dengan menerapkan konsep yang telah dipelajarinya. Salah satu ciri siswa yang dianggap memahami suatu konsep adalah siswa yang mampu memahami suatu konsep dan mampu menjelaskannya kembali dengan menggunakan tata bahasanya sendiri. Jenis penelitian ini adalah quasi eksperimen dengan desain pretest-posttest dengan Simple Random Sampling. Sampel dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 67 siswa kelas VII B dan VII C. Teknik pengujian hipotesis menggunakan uji-t (Independent Sample T-Test) dengan taraf signifikansi 0,05. Hasil analisis data dan pembahasan yang telah dilakukan, dapat disimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran Numbered Heads Together (NHT) memiliki pengaruh dalam meningkatkan kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematika siswa pada proses pembelajaran matematika.
