Abstract

Abstract – Blended learning is a combination of face-to-face learning and online learning with the help of information and communication technology. Based on the results of the preliminary study, it is known that the learning activities of students during the Covid-19 pandemic at home are still very low due to a lack of interest in learning, the lack of meetings between teachers and students, so learning is used blended learning with google classroom which can help students in the learning process. . This study aims to determine the optimization of blended learning learning using google classroom for the learning activities of class VIII students of SMPN 6 Sawahlunto. This research method is a quasi experimental design. The experimental design used in this study was a posttest only control design. Data collection techniques in this study were tests in the form of questions, observation sheets and questionnaires. The research method is pre-experimental research using one group pretest-posttest design. The research subjects consisted of 20 students and 1 model teacher. The learning implementation is carried out in 2 cycles on additive material with the plan, do, see and reflection stages 2 times. Obtained student activity data in the google classroom in cycle 2 has shown a very high average for the number of students 75.86%, student activity in answering questions is 80.69% (very high), Asking questions 72.73% (very high), Doing activities in Student Worksheets (LKPD) for 81.82% (very high), 68.18% presentation (high), had an opinion of 61.36% (high) and wrote 79.55% (very high). Based on data analysis using N-Gain, it can be concluded that science learning using blended learning with Google Classrom has been running optimally.
