Abstract

The media has the ability to reach a wide range of social classes widely and quickly, making it an effective tool for spreading environmental messages. This study identifies the factors that support and hinder the acceptance and action of recycling in the community. Enabling factors such as family support, positive feedback, and waste availability play an important role in recycling success. On the other hand, the lack of facilities, knowledge and political support are the main obstacles. The recycling culture brings various benefits to the community, including creating jobs, conserving natural resources, saving energy, and improving public health. This study highlights the importance of education through mass and digital media to encourage a clean and healthy lifestyle to reduce environmental pollution.  Keywords – the role of communication, environmental care, recycling culture, information technology
