Abstract

Antennas are frequency-dependent devices. The design of each antenna depends on the frequency band it will operate in. An antenna rejects every signal that is outside its operating band. Thus the antenna may be also seen as a bandpass filter. Antennas are essential parts in communication systems. Therefore, understanding their principles is important and this will be covered in subsequent sections of this work.
